Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about counselling, sessions, and how we work together

Counselling is a collaborative and confidential process where you work with a trained professional to explore challenges, gain insight, and develop practical strategies for emotional well being, personal growth, and healthier relationships. It’s a supportive space to reflect, heal, and move forward.

Counselling can be helpful for anyone feeling overwhelmed, stuck, stressed, anxious, or navigating life transitions. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit—many people seek counselling for personal development, clarity, and support.

We support individuals with concerns such as anxiety, stress, burnout, depression, low mood, self esteem, life transitions, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, and identity or faith related questions. If you’re unsure whether your concern is a good fit, you’re welcome to reach out.

Our approach is collaborative, client centered, and culturally sensitive. This means sessions are tailored to your unique needs, values, and goals, drawing on evidence based therapeutic approaches (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) while respecting your personal, cultural, and spiritual context.

The first session focuses on getting to know you. We’ll discuss what brought you to counselling, your goals, and any relevant background. You’re not expected to have everything figured out—this is simply a starting point.

Yes. We offer a free initial consultation to help you decide whether counselling feels like the right fit for you. This brief, no-obligation consultation gives you the opportunity to ask questions, share a little about what you’re looking for, and learn how we work. It’s also a chance for us to see if we’re a good match before committing to ongoing sessions.

Sessions are 50 minutes each free consultation. Frequency varies depending on your needs.  Some clients attend weekly, others bi weekly or as needed. This can be adjusted over time.
